On Thursday we were fortunate to spend some of the afternoon with Anne Bissell, one of the school science teachers.  We have been exploring our understanding of space, rockets and movement over the last few weeks.  Anne was able to add some additional depth to this learning through sharing her knowledge of rockets, gravity and space exploration.

We crafted our own soft-drink bottle rockets and Anne helped us get them ready for launch.  We filled the bottles with water and using Anne’s pump and launch pad we blasted them over the field.

Some took more pumping than others and a few of us needed a little support.  The count down was an exciting part of each launch – 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Blast off.

We look forward to spending some more time with Anne on other science projects, next term.
